A romantic dinner for two.  Certainly there’s no shortage of romantic restaurants to be found in Las Vegas.  But on the Mezzanine level of the Aria Resort and Casino, you’ll find a sexy spot that will transport you to Paris, with its decor, its ambience, and especially with its food.  What better place for an adult date night?

It’s late.  You’re hungry.  Trouble is, most of the good restaurants have stopped serving.  Sure, you could go to any number of coffee shops or fast food joints, but you want something more substantial.  You want a real meal!

You’re in luck...

The Urban Dictionary defines George as anything which is “Excellent, great, superb.”  George also signifies one who is free in giving and sharing, living life to the fullest.  With this spirit of generosity in mind, the three original owners of the Triple George Grill, to whom the name refers, have created an excellent eatery, with great service, and superb food!

At the back of The Shoppes at the Palazzo, you’ll find SushiSamba, a bustling, colorful, and fairly noisy space where the flavors of Brazil, Peru, and Japan combine in flawless fusion.  I’ve dined at SushiSamba several times; never with the intention of writing a review, but the winning combination of lively ambience, friendly staff, and superb food, spurred me to share my experiences.

By now, most travelers know that Las Vegas is one of the foremost food destinations on the planet.  Everywhere you turn, you can find celebrity chef-owned restaurants, cutting edge cuisine, and amazing offerings from around the world.  Much of this deliciousness can come at quite a price, however, and for the uninitiated, just looking at the menus can result in a terrible case of sticker shock!  But never fear!  If you want to eat well in Vegas, but don’t want to mortgage your homes to do so, I’m here to help!  On my most recent culinary jaunt, I tried two eateries known for large portions and reasonable prices - The Peppermill and Hash House A Go-Go.

Summertime is here, with images of long weekends, pool parties, and big frozen drinks to beat the sweltering temperatures.  Summer is also the time for outdoor barbecues, and while Las Vegas is known more for high end dining, some of the best down-home barbecue can be found with a little intrepid off-Strip exploration.

Small plates are big business!  Tapas restaurants and “Small Bites” menus are popping up all over the Strip.  It’s a smart move - shareable portions, reasonably priced, allowing diners to sample more dishes than they might with a big, expensive dinner.  A standout among these eateries is Julian Serrano Tapas at the Aria Resort and Casino.  Having grown up in a Latin American country with strong Spanish influences, I have fond memories of many of these foods, and Chef Serrano does tapas right!

Revolving.  The sun is setting, lending the restaurant a magical amber-peach glow that filmmakers love.  Hey!  Isn’t that Old Vegas down there?  Oh!  I can see the Smith Center!  Revolving.  That’s Paradise Road.  There is Mount Charleston, and...WAIT!  Did someone just jump off the building?!?  Revolving.  The sun has gone down behind the mountains and the city’s lights are coming alive.  Wow!  Look at The Strip!  Las Vegas sure looks pretty from the Top Of The World.

IMG 9972Are you tired of the usual catering halls or sterile hotel ballrooms for your business luncheons?  Well, hidden away beneath the main lobby of the Palazzo Hotel Resort Casino, is Dal Toro, a truly unexpected Italian eatery.  At Dal Toro, the decor is a combination of contemporary elements mixed with marbled archways, tiled fountains and cheery, striped satin banquettes that take you back to Italy of yesteryear.

ROSE. RABBIT. LIE IS STILL IN OPERATION AND STILL BEING CALLED A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT, BUT THE ENTERTAINERS FROM SPIEGELWORLD, OF WHOM I WROTE, ARE LONG SINCE GONE.  I HAVENT SEEN THE NEW PERFORMERS, BUT IT SOUNDS A BIT MORE SUBDUED AND PERFORMANCE-ARTY THAN THE RAUCOUS SHOW THAT USED TO BE.  I STILL RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT AND BAR, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD THE ENTERTAINMENT IS THESE DAYS.

LOOK OUT!!!  That dragon just grabbed some food off your plate!  Watch it!  Those hot tap dancers might knock your drink off the bar!  Oooh!  A champagne tower?!  Yes, please!  Wasn’t dinner fabulous?  Hey!  It’s time for the late show.  Do you want to stay and dance?  The DJ’s dressed as Jesus!

This is Rose. Rabbit. Lie.
